Founded as Immortal Fury in March of 2008, the samba-style supporters group of Sounders FC held its first event that summer when the Brasil National Team faced Canada in a friendly at Qwest Field.
The Sounders inaugural season will forever be remembered for flags, banners, away match viewing parties, and new friends. US Open Cup matches, tifo parties and a wild bus trip to Portland are a few of the great memories that have quickly become legend.
In 2009 the group launched the Imortal Flag Initiative. Members reached out to the rest of the match day community to bring color and movement to all parts of Qwest Field. Over 700 flags were made and the images of the team walking out of the tunnel with flags waving all around them will be well remembered. We held high hopes that 2011 would finally bring the opening of the Hawk's Nest and a chance for group members to support together in one section. But the decision was made to keep the Nest closed yet again. Thus, we will focus on decorating the North End of the stadium as well as we can and keep our fingers crossed that sitting together is not far off.
